Mercedes E-Class 2016

For several years the Mercedes E-class served as the basis for creating models in other weight categories. The automaker has decided to resume its presence in this segment. New car from the German manufacturer aims to make a revolution. A promising model is called W 213. The car features has not only the original design but innovative toppings. According to the engineers from Stuttgart, it will become a model for a whole range of solutions body: coupe, convertible, sports car, seven-seated wagon and sedan long.

Promising Mercedes E-class is created on new rear-wheel platform MRA. The innovative base has allowed increasing the size of the machine and reducing the weight (over 100 kg) through the use of composite technology. In turn, the widespread use of lightweight materials has led to an increase in the cost of the product. Externally, the car has undergone significant changes. And it’s not a facelift, but a completely new model of business class.

Universal platform contributed to the creation of “sport” proportions: Mercedes E-class of 2016 year has an extended wheelbase and a bit more. The exterior is distinguished by a more athletic design and new aerodynamic features. The height would decrease slightly in the sake of aerodynamics. The exterior of the car is deliberately rough classical German views on art. The design of the radiator returns to expensive sports models in the 50-ies. Adaptive headlights have got expressive two-component segment with led daytime running lights.

The change in the layout helped to create a more spacious cabin. At the same time reducing the height of the cabin resulted in a decrease of the distance between the front seat headrests and the ceiling. The wide instrument panel is fully digital. There are two color of LCD display. One substitute for traditional navigational instruments and the other is near a penny and within relief segment console. Intelligent system, through the image of the hand, suggests what you need to perform actions while driving the car itself, using the touchpad controls.

The Central screen is not only an element of the multimedia system Comand with a touch of the mouse and displays a three-dimensional map built-in navigation system. Electronic equipment is at the highest level: radar, ultrasonic sensors, and stereo cameras. Highway autopilot has the ability to taxi without using the braking system. And yet, the electric heating system, which is integrated into the inner surface, allowed avoiding a significant number of traditional air duct network of the heater.

Return “sixes” and others

More than a year ago it became known that the company is developing a new unit of six-cylinder engine with in-line arrangement. The engine will work with both a turbocharger and in the embodiment of the twin-turbo.

The new Mercedes E-class 2016 will be equipped with several types of power plants:

• Six-cylinder petrol engine by volume of 3 L., by power from 367 to 435 l. /sec.
• Six-cylinder petrol engines volume of from 2.2 to 3.5 liters.
• Gasoline V-shaped 8-cylinder engine, the volume of 4 l, capacity of 600 l. /sec.
• Diesel engine, the volume of 2, 9 l, capacity from 315 to 400 l. /sec.

In General, power plants are characterized by greater power and efficiency. The efficiency of the engines can significantly reduce the size of the fuel tank. Among power plants is planned hybrid engine with 125 horsepower electric motor and all electric versions. Four-wheel drive versions will be offered as an option. Transmission will be automatic only: seven speed or nine speed. Conventional coiled springs of the suspension will replace the pneumatic cushions. Other details about the technical equipment are not available yet.

On the 10th of June 2015 there was information that this car will go on sale at the beginning of the year – in January of 2016. The car will appear on the domestic market until spring of 2016. The base model is estimated at between 44 000 $.
