Infiniti Q50, formerly known as model G, is a class E sedan with a rear or four-wheel drive. The world premiere of the model took place at the Auto Show in Detroit in January 2013. Two months later, the European version of the sedan was presented in Geneva.

The updated sedan is presented with a new bumper with modified “fog lights” and air intakes as well as improved mesh insert in the radiator grille. New LED optics provide better visibility in the dark, and the tail lights are now just like the lights installed on Q60 model. Front bumpers of Sport and Red Sport 400 varieties are presented in a more aggressive manner with enlarged air intakes as well as a special aerodynamic body kit.

The interior of the Infiniti Q50 2018 is modernized with leather on the upholstery of the front panel and the gear lever knob with double stitching. The steering wheel is now sporty, stylized after Q60, as well as front seats being updated with improved back support. The InTouch multimedia system consists of two large color screens on the center of the console, Bose audio system with 16 speakers with surround sound effect is available optionally.

The iteration of power plants remained unchanged compared to previous models. The package is supplemented with semi-autonomous ProPilot control system, which allows you to travel on the highway at a specified speed without changing lanes, and also ride in a dense city traffic, using acceleration and braking when necessary. The Infiniti Co. promises to supplement the entire model range with this option in the future.


The Infiniti Q50 is sold with its own set of powertrains depending on the market. European markets were specifically introduced to the model with a 2.2 diesel engine produced by Mercedes-Benz, boasting 170 HP. There is also a petrol version variety – a 3-liter twin-turbo V6 with direct injection and a capacity of 405 horsepower, which is different from the sports version – Q50S Red Sport. It includes an air-injection added to the water-cooling system, the latest electronic valve lift control system and a turbocharger rotor speed sensor.

Fuel economy

Standard Q50 model equipped with 6 cyl and 3.0 L engine resulting in 23 mpg fuel consumption average while 4-cylinder base model consumes 23 mpg city, 30 highway, 25 combined.

Release date and price

The start of sales of the new Infiniti Q50 began in the second quarter of 2017. The price of the car ranges from $35,000 up to $52,000 depending on complexion.

This car has a modern interior and exterior design as well as acceptable price although Infiniti Q50 has mediocre fuel economy characteristics which might make you think twice before buying it. Nevertheless based on the feedback of the drivers who have already bought it, it is still good purchasing decision.
